A friend aquired the nickname Great some years ago and more recently moved to New Orleans to be a full time jazz pianist. This is his housewarming gift. “Great” was the first word I sketched for this typeface, so it became his.

This is the third deisgn since the site's inception. Due to a very successful website evaluation survey, this site was redesigned to better conform to newly outlined style guidelines and to address many of the issues our users had with the previous versions.

In 2007 the University of Connecticut enacted style guidlines for every departmental website. The point was to make the navigation and basic design of each site to be similar in look and functionality. Even though I had very minimal artistic control over the body portion of the site, I found this to be a great project in learning to work with strict artistic guidlines and someone else's code.

The client for this logo wanted me to clean up a sketch for their farm's identity. It would eventually be used as a template for the woodcut sign at the farm's entrance.

A friend enjoyed my teddy bear sketches so much he asked if I could create something a little more “voilent and jarring” for his new apartment. This is the result.

After a trip to Hawai'i for a friend's wedding toward the end of 2007, I had quite a few great pictures (it is difficult to take a bad picture in Hawai'i) that I wanted to use in some way. With the new year coming up, I thought, what a better way to showcase the images than to make a calendar.

A friend really liked all of the old sketches I used to do of penguins. These two were his favorites, so for a housewarming gift I fleshed out the sketches into full digital prints to hang in his home.
For those who don't recognize the scenes, the left image is from Slash's guitar solo in the November Rain video and the right image is based on Norman Rockwell's “Triple Portrait With Me”.
